Periodic CPC FAQs

Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions page about Periodic CPC courses!

What Driver CPC do I need to complete? Click here to read more about which course you require.

How many hours is the Driver CPC course?

Each module that we deliver is 7 hours in length and you are required to complete 35 hours of Driver CPC training in total to achieve your Driver Qualification card which means you will need to attend 5 separate modules.

What are the course running times?

Every course runs from 08.00 to 16.00 and we have three breaks in that time. A morning break of 15 minutes. A lunch break of 30 minutes and an afternoon break of 15 minutes.
*If you are booking a closed course then you can choose your start time.

How do I join an online course?

You will need to download the “Zoom” application to which ever device you wish to attend the course on. We recommend that you use a laptop or PC for size but you can attend using a smartphone should you wish. Zoom can be downloaded on any Windows, Android or IOS device.

You are required to have a working camera and microphone on your device so that you can interact with the instructor during the course, without these you cannot partake in the class

You should also make sure that you have a stable internet connection.

Once you book with us you will receive joining instructions via email. Then, the evening before your course you will receive an email with a course link. All you need to do is click on that link 30 minutes before the course is due to start and Zoom will open automatically and take you in to the course.

You don’t need to subscribe to Zoom or enter any personal details.

What details do I need to supply / have on me?

When you book you will be required to send us a picture of the front and back of your driving licence to confirm your details… and that’s all.

On the day of your course the instructor will ask for the first part of your postcode and to hold your driving licence up to the camera. Once you have done this you can sit back, relax and wait for your course to begin.

Do I have to interact during the course?

JAUPT stipulate that candidate of Driver CPC courses should take an active role in the course and interact when requested of them. Therefore you are required to have a working camera so that you are seen to be ever present and a working microphone so that you can talk when required. Without either of these you cannot partake in the class

Can I just have the course on in the background while I do something else?

In short, no. You must give the course your undivided attention. If the instructor feels that you are distracted by anything such as a TV, game, work or just talking to other individuals then they are instructed to remove the candidate from the course.

In the past we have had candidates try to attend a course whilst working, whilst driving and even whilst trying to board a plane. All of which were removed immediately.

If you are ejected then you will not get your Driver CPC hours uploaded and to attend another course you will be required to pay.

Is there a pass and fail to the course?

There is no pass or fail element.

Periodic Driver CPC is based solely around the attendance and active participation of the candidate. As long as you are present for the 7 hours and you don’t do anything to give the instructor reason to eject you, you will receive your 7 hours uploaded to your record.

What do I need to do after the course?

Absolutely nothing. We will do it all for you.

On completion of your course, we will email you a certificate as proof of attendance and we upload the hours to the DVSA.

How long do I have to wait before my DQC card arrives?

Once you have completed 35 hours of training it triggers on the DVSA site and they will produce and issue your DQC card relatively quickly. On average this is usually received within a week of completing your final module.
